Technical Sales Engineer


The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the Business Development division of Midwest Interventional Systems. This vital team member will assist on opportunities throughout the entire sales lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong technical knowledge of catheter-based components, designs, and assemblies
  • Identify and track potential prospects for the sales team
  • Manage and oversee website inquiries
  • Support customer calls for lead and opportunity generation
  • Perform preliminary engineering review on all incoming technical documents
  • Build and manage relationships with key component vendors
  • Draft quotes for all new and existing customers
  • Assist sales team in anticipating objections and how to overcome them
  • Collect and process all purchase orders
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support internal and external business development objectives
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical is preferred)
  • Experience in catheter based medical device design, development, and manufacturing is preferred
  • Solidworks/CAD proficiency
  • Familiarity with FDA, QSR, and ISO 13485 medical device regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to multitask and flexibility to respond to changing customer needs
  • Highly organized
